Better than Mt Pilatus in Lucerne? (Swiss Newsletter)

21 Aug 2024

Yesterday I rode on a jaw-dropping cable car near Lucerne, Reader!!

Everyone goes to Pilatus, but I would (now) argue that this mountain tops it in more ways than you can imagine.

We actually hiked up a leg-pumping 1100m (3600ft)! Not everyone's cup of tea as they say, but well worth the trip - even if you just catch the gondola up.

Then we explored the mountain top, had a bite to eat (if you like creamy cakes, try the cremeschnitte) and then a the stunning hike to the 360 degree view on top! WOW

You can see all the way to the Jungfraujoch from there! There are 100 mountains in view.

The cable car is spectacular and unique, and it's way cheaper than Pilatus too.

NOTE - โ›” Brienz Rothorn is closed for the season due to the recent storm, more on that with an alternative below.

If you want to grab the chocolate that Swiss people eat every day without paying a fortune, then Coop or Migros (Supermarkets) are the best places to get it.
